Beautiful Death Vase
This piece is a vase that I am working on called, "The Beautiful Death". It is a philosophical vase which honors and celebrates the death of the rose. A red rose is placed on a small needle in the bottom of the sculpture to support the stem. Then as the water in the black sand evaporates, the rose slowly and gracefully dies. As the flower dies, its head is lightly caught and cradled in the top end of the vase. It is much like being born in your coffin really. The beings' fate is already predetermined and therefore inevitable. I created this to show that death has its own beauty and it can be just as amazing as life itself. It shows that death should not be feared, it is merely the final adventure on everyones list.
